Por que? I entered the St. George Marathon lottery! I know it seems silly to have to enter a lottery for someone to LET you run 26.2 miles, but just go with me on this. St. George promises to be one of the prettiest and fastest marathons in the area. I wasn't totally convinced about the whole thing, thinking it was probably hyped up more than it was worth. So I checked out the website and watched their little video. It does look SUPER pretty! I kinda fell in love with the scenery, so I signed up.
Now I just wait to see if I get in! Sweet Julia entered as well, so hopefully we will both get in!

Skinny Runner, Skinny Runner... why do you taunt me with your BEACH RUNS?!?
Because she does. And they look heavenly. Check her out the other morning. Maybe if I ran in the beautiful sunshine everyday by the beach I would be as beautifully bronze as her.
Maybe... but I would probably just burn up.

Here is the "fancy meal" Ben whipped up after watching Chopped with me yesterday.
My plate...
We're calling it, egg souffle with black bean and tomato relish.

Yesterday's lunch salad was spinach, water chestnuts, carrots, olives, eggs, sun dried tomatoes and lots of chicken hiding beneath it all.

My brother is a pretty amazing trombonist. He is performing in the play Sunset Boulevard right now. He invited us to come see their last dress rehearsal before they open this weekend.
We love going to shows and neither of us had seen this one before, double score!
This is a sneaky audience pic.
Thanks bro!

Oh, and I made a couple purchases too. How could I forget? ;)
You can never have enough comfy t-shirts for summer, and I am in desperate need of some good summer shirts.
Back view of this skirt.
I am totally picturing myself wearing this while we walk all over D.C. Perfect breezy vacation skirt right? It is a super light gray, though it looks khaki in this photo. I am not a super cutesy person, so still need to try this on with some of my stuff to make sure that bow isn't too much for me. It hasn't passed the final test yet. Still deciding...

Did you enter the St. George lottery?
Have you ever entered a race lottery before? Did you get in?!?
This is my first time, but I am hoping for beginners luck. :)
Have you participated in a race that was over hyped?
Did I miss the announcement? DC is your vacation destination? I thought for sure you would end up somewhere tropical. But DC is lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteYeah I must have missed the announcement too! Good luck with the St. George lottery - I so want to do the marathon with everyone...but my future is up in the air - so maybe if it's cold by then - I'll come be a specator yelling at whoever gets in! I hope you all do!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm crossing my fingers too. I entered the lottery last week. it was my first marathon in 2008. It's BEAUTIFUL and fast. Lots and lots of down hill. And I'm telling you, beach runs and SoCal weather simply can't be beat. It's a fact of life.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the lottery!
ReplyDeleteI've never entered a lottery for a race but if it was special enough I would!
Cute purchases!
:)
Good luck with the lottery! I have never entered one before, but I'm sure the anxiety of whether you are going to get in or not, makes it super exciting!
ReplyDeleteOh that Skinny Runner, I tell ya I am super jealous of her life, she lives in Cali, runs on the beach and works a few months out of the year, fantabulous!
Ok, yes, I entered the NYC lottery but I didn't get chose this year BUT all my friends did WHICH MEANS, since we're blog friends, you're chances of getting picked just went way up :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a spot! I watched the video too and it looks awesome!

ReplyDeleteI hope you get in girlie!!!! How many days left of work?? You've got to be getting close right!?!
ReplyDeleteI still can't decide if I want to sign up! ahh!
ReplyDeleteI should just do it... but then I feel like I'll have to be committed to the insane asylum for running 3 marathons in a year. pure crazy girl... mm hmm. that's me.
Those shirts look very comfy and cool!
ReplyDeleteYay! I entered the lottery as well and am crossing me fingers we all get in. I lived in St. George for 3 years and always loved watching the marathon. It would totally be a dream come true for me to get in.
ReplyDeleteLast day of work today for you girl I hope it is a good one! Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to celebrate the joyous occasion. :)
Holley, you are so pretty! Love your "crossing my everything" pose!! I hope you get in!! Yes, non-runners would think you are crazy!
ReplyDeleteYou will look adorable in that summer skirt! And, i agree, I get so jealous of SR's beach runs--Wouldn't it be pleasant to run in that every day?!
