I hope you all had a GREAT Mother's Day!
My mom is the BUSIEST BEE I think I have EVER met. She is a go-go-GO getter. I think she has made about a millions quilts, canned an infinite amount of produce and gardened her little green thumbs to the bone.
Growing up, you never think you will turn out like your mom... and honestly kind of fear it.
Maybe it is perspective or else I am a WHOLE lot smarter than I used to be... but I am THANKFUL for each little trait we have in common. This woman can do it all and if I can do half as much I will count that as success! I admire her amazing ability to love and serve everyone around her.
I am glad I got to spend time with my mom this weekend and spoil her a little.
Chocolate is the way to her heart.
More than once I have gone to get something out of her purse only to find an entire FULL sized chocolate bar in there! She said she kept it in there for "emergencies." Apparently my mom gets into a lot of trouble to need that whole thing in there.
I stocked up her stash a little and gave them to her right before we had dinner.
Of course she opened them RIGHT up to taste them. She couldn't wait till after dinner!
I sure love you mom, AND all your chocolate fixations!

How was YOUR Mother's Day!?!

Maybe I should keep an emergency chocolate stash? I think my hubby would appreciate being able to just run and snag a piece whenever I am less than friendly, LOL.
ReplyDeleteYour mom is adorable, btw. Glad to hear you had a good Mother's Day!
My mom and I are postponing our celebrations until I'm stateside (in 6 weeks! yay!)
you and your mom are SO cute together!!! and my dad always jokes that the reason my mom has such good skin is because of all the chocolate she eats :) you are such a lucky girl for being able to hag with your mamma on mothers day...enjoy every moment! i havent in 7 years (Thats what living 2000 miles away will do to you!) :( maybe next year!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of you and your Mom! You are both absolutely beautiful.

ReplyDeleteAw, how sweet!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea. I can think of many emergencies where a good bit of chocolate would come in handy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! I love how you said that we fear growing up to be like our mom's and then we hope to become half of what they are. I can totally relate. Love your pictures! And candy bars can solve lots of little emergencies!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking I need to start carrying around an emergency bar of chocolate...too bad it's summer now and it'd probably start melting soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way about my mom. I really wouldn't mind at all turning out like her :)
what a nice tribute! I love it that she carries chocolate around!
ReplyDeleteYeah for moms!
ReplyDeleteYour mom sounds like my kind of girl! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love dark chocolate, the darker the better for me. I have never seen the 'Hawaiin Host' before; I will have to keep an eye out!
